Commander Timothy P. Reidy, Jr.

Submarine Operations, Training/Readiness, Plans Officer

A native of Salem, Oregon, Commander Timothy Reidy was commissioned into the United States Navy after graduating from the University of Notre Dame in May 1997 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He subsequently earned a Master of Military Art and Science in Strategy in 2008 and a Master of Military Art and Science in Theater Operations in 2009, from the Army Command and General Staff College in Leavenworth, KS.

Upon completion of the nuclear power pipeline in Orlando, FL and Ballston Spa, NY, CDR Reidy reported to the USS Louisville (SSN 724) in December 1998.  During his tour USS Louisville completed two Western Pacific Deployments.

Upon completion of his tour on USS Louisville, CDR Reidy reported to Naval Submarine School in January 2002 where he served as the Lead tactics instructor.

Following the Submarine Officer Advanced Course and a qualification patrol on USS Wyoming (SSBN 742G), CDR Reidy reported to USS West Virginia (SSBN 736G) as Strategic Weapons Officer in January 2005.  After three strategic deterrence patrols and an extended modernization overhaul, in July 2007 CDR Reidy transferred to the Command and General Staff College at Leavenworth, KS.

Following completion of the Advanced Military Studies Program, CDR Reidy reported to Nuclear Power Training Unit, Ballston Spa as Executive Officer in May 2009.

In August 2010, CDR Reidy departed on an Individual Augment to NATO Training Mission – Afghanistan. Working in the Future Plans Cell at Camp Eggers, Kabul, Afghanistan, CDR Reidy facilitated plans for Deputy Commander – Police and for gender equality initiatives.

In May 2011, CDR Reidy reported to Trident Training Facility, Bangor, WA and assumed the duties of Combat Systems Department Director providing training services to 23 Bangor area submarines and Integrated Undersea Surveillance System crews at Whidbey Island, WA.

CDR Reidy reported to Commander Carrier Strike Group Three in August of 2013 as Submarine Operations, Training/Readiness and Plans officer.
