The Department of Naval Science is home to both the US Marine Corps and US Navy and is part of the Defense Education unit, which comprises four of the US Military branches.

Minor codes and course requirements:

  • 811 - US Marine Corps
  • 812 -  US Navy

To complete a minor in Naval Science (NS) and commission as an officer, NS Courses are taken in addition to your major degree. Declaring one of the Naval Science minors is mandatory at enrollment. Be sure to submit the minor code for your military option at the Office of the Registrar before classes begin.
