On April 16th, the Navy ROTC unit at Oregon State held their annual Spring Ball. The event was held in the Alumni Center on campus and included a dinner prepared by OSU catering, a speech from the Commanding Officer, dancing, and a recitation of senior wills. In his speech to the Battalion, Captain Nisbett recalled when he joined the Navy over twenty years ago and explained how operating with a sense of pride, professionalism, and purpose has enabled him to achieve his current success. Like many of the Beaver Battalion’s events, the Spring Ball is heavily based on naval tradition. The Ball featured an invocation, color guard, and playing of the Marines' Hymn, as well as Anchors Away. After the playing of Anchors Away, the dance floor opened up. Several midshipmen also stopped by the photo booth at the event to take fun pictures with their dates or classmates. The Spring Ball committee, led by Midshipman Flynn, did a fantastic job putting together an enjoyable and memorable event.
