MOSCOW, Idaho – April 4–5, 2025 — Oregon State University’s Beaver Battalion, competed in this year’s Northwest Navy (NWN) competition hosted in Moscow, Idaho by the University of Idaho/Washington State (UI/WSU) NROTC. NWN is a long-standing annual tradition dating back to the early 1950s — a weekend of fierce competition and camaraderie among the Pacific Northwest’s top NROTC units. This year featured matchups between Oregon State, University of Washington (UW), and UI/WSU.
The Beaver Battalion put forth an outstanding performance throughout the weekend, securing first-place finishes in volleyball, basketball, football, weapons relay, and speech. The unit’s physical prowess was further demonstrated by MIDN 1/C Rucker, who was a top performer in the Physical Fitness Test (PFT), and MIDN 3/C Vanden Brook, who led the way in the Physical Readiness Test (PRT).
While UW NROTC took home first place overall, Beaver Battalion secured second — and we’re already looking ahead to NWN 2026, hosted at UW, where we’re aiming to take back the top spot on their home turf.
A big thank you to the UI/WSU NROTC for hosting an incredible weekend and continuing the tradition of excellence that defines Northwest Navy.
