On October 26, 2018, the Beaver Battalion held the annual Navy Fall Ball in the Philomath Scout Lodge. As the first major social event of the academic year, the fall ball was the first time many of our students had the opportunity to interact with fellow officers, and midshipmen and their guests in a formal setting.

The event also included a special cake cutting ceremony to commemorate the United States Navy’s 243st birthday, where the oldest and youngest Navy attendees cut the cake using a Navy sword.

Throughout the evening, the Beaver Battalion got to experience and practice many time honored Navy traditions, customs, and courtesies such as a sword arch, bell ringing ceremony, display of colors, receiving line and speeches from the Commanding Officer and the guest of honor.
