Two members of the SWO Club visited the USS CORONADO (LCS 4) in Portland, during their Spring Break.

The USS Coronado is an Independence-class littoral combat ship and is the third ship of the United States Navy to be named after Coronado, California. She was launched and christened during a ceremony in Mobile Bay on 14 January 2012. It began underway operational testing of the Navy's newest unmanned helicopter, the MQ-8C Fire Scout, off the coast of San Diego, June 15, 2018.

OC Ott-Bales and MIDN Yamomo had a VIP tour of CORONADO’s mission bay/quarterdeck, hangar bay, flight deck, bridge/CIC, engineering spaces, and the forward deck which held the ships Harpoon missile mounts. They also had a chance to meet with CORONADO’s CO, CDR Repass, who gave them an inspirational speech on naval leadership and the CORONADO’s capabilities.
