During Fall Term, on October 21-23, Semper Fi platoon conducted a Field Exercise (FEX) at Camp Adair. The purpose of this training is to prepare Marine option midshipmen for Officer Candidate School (OCS), which they will attend during the summer before their respective senior years. It is also an opportunity for 2/C MIDN (juniors) to gain experience in small group leadership.

Areas of focus during this FEX were Day and Night Land Navigation, 5-Paragraph Orders, Leadership, as well as Tactical Decision Making. Other training elements were missions that included both offensive and defensive sides. This is the first of two FEX training events, with the second one being held towards the end of the school year.
