Best in the West and the Rest! Another year, and another successful Northwest Navy. This spring, the beaver battalion travelled to rainy Seattle,  ready to dominate, and while the gold medal may have eluded us this year, let's take a step back and look at all the fun we had!

This year, the University of Washington hosted 7 units from across America to celebrate 100 bright years of NROTC at the annual Northwest Navy competition! Nothing, not even the bus breaking down, could contain our excitement to be a part of such a historic event. Lets take a look at some of the events.

We started the day with the Physical Readiness Test for the Navy and Physical Fitness Test for Marine Corps, where our student competitors started off strong with PRs around the table. Next, our soccer and flag football teams took to the field. Through hard work and a lot of teamwork both groups played great, and the football team was able to make it to the final round! Meanwhile, the swim team made a splash and fought hard for their position. After a quick bite of lunch and now out of the rain, our basketball players ran onto court managing a 1-1 record! This was followed by a smashing overall win for the volleyball team and another valiant performance from the ultimate frisbee team. The afternoon slowed down with speech and academics taking the stand, both with podium finishes! And for the perfect finish two of our students winning the spikeball tournament! Congratulations to all of our student athletes who participated this year!

After a great day of excellent sportsmanship and a lovely closing ceremony by the University of Washington, we are proud to say we took second place overall. More importantly, we all made memories, built comradery, and had blast! We are very thankful for our gracious hosts and for 100 years of NROTC! Moreover, we at here at OSU are also very excited to be hosting the next Northwest Navy in 2027, see you all then!

Thank you all to the students, staff, alumni, and generous donors who have made this year's Northwest Navy possible and GO BEAVERS!
