Naval ROTC midshipmen are college students that are held to a higher standard. They pursue an academic degree in a normal university environment--in the same manner as a non-midshipman would. One difference is that midshipman declare one of the Naval Science minors; US Navy (812) or US Marine Corps (811) as well as their selected major degree program. They also wear the Navy uniform to class once a week and participate in regular unit activities; such as physical training, volunteer, and club events. Midshipmen are also held to the high moral and ethical standards as all other Navy and Marine Corps officers. Midshipmen are free to join Greek organizations and enjoy all other aspects of campus life. You will blend in with and participate in the campus activities of your choice. When you graduate you will serve with pride as a Navy or Marine Corps regular or reserve officer.
